The Associated Students of Skagit Valley College (ASSVC) represents you as a student of the college. You are a member of the ASSVC if you are a student enrolled in classes. Through the ASSVC and its legislative body—which you help to elect—govern themselves and share in policy-making within the administrative structure of the college. Students participate with faculty, staff and administrators to determine college policy by serving on institutional committees. The ASSVC Campus Presidents and other students make reports to the college’s Board of Trustees at their monthly meetings.
Elections for the executive officers, and two-thirds of the legislature, are held during Spring term for the next school year. Elections for the remainder of the representative positions are held in the fall.
The regular meetings of the ASSVC are open to all students, faculty and staff. The exact date, time and location of the meetings will be posted in the Student Government office on both campuses.
The weekly regular meetings of the Mount Vernon Campus Associated Students of Skagit Valley College (ASSVC) take place every Friday at 2:15 p.m. Meetings are held in room C-175 in the Gary Knutzen Cardinal Center.
The weekly regular meetings of the Whidbey Island Campus Associated Students of Skagit Valley College take place every Friday at 9 a.m. Meetings are held in the Student Programs Office — Old Main, 2nd floor.
